The Gibb Challenge is an annual, socially competitive, team relay mountain bike event raising community awareness and funds for charity. It is a peerless outback cycling adventure, tracing the iconic Kimberley stock route of the Gibb River Road from the deep-water port town of Derby, through the vast pastoral leases of the central and east Kimberley and on to the community celebrations of the Boab Metals Ord Valley Muster in Kununurra.

Since the event’s inception in 2007, the challenge has raised more than $9M for our charity partners that have included WA Police Legacy, Ryan Marron Foundation, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Sirens of Silence and The Kyle Andrews Foundation.

Team places are strictly limited to enhance participant safety with 150 riders from every state and territory in Australia invited to enjoy a life defining Kimberley adventure with overnight camping and fellowship.

Journey upstream aboard our purpose-built vessel and take in the river’s stunning scenery, local wildlife, and rich stories shared by your skipper. Journey into the heart of Woolah Country and discover it through the eyes of its Traditional Owners.

Your adventure begins with a self-drive to Doon Doon Station, where you’ll be welcomed with a bush-food-inspired morning tea and a warm introduction to Country.

From there, relax as you’re chauffeured in comfortable 4WD vehicles across stunning landscapes to a secluded beach and freshwater waterhole, a hidden gem known only to locals.

Here, you can cool off with a refreshing swim, try your luck at catching a fish, and join your guides on an easy-grade bush walk to learn about bush tucker and medicinal plants that have sustained the people of this Country for generations.

While you unwind by the water, you’ll be treated to a bush-food-inspired lunch, showcasing seasonal local ingredients and traditional flavours.

The adventure doesn’t end there as you will also be chauffeured to a scenic lookout to watch the sunset with complimentary canapes and drinks, surrounded by the breathtaking Kimberley landscape.

As dusk settles, you’ll make your way to the campsite, where you can freshen up before gathering around the campfire for dinner and storytelling beneath the stars.

When it’s time to rest, retreat to your comfortable glamping tent, designed to offer a relaxing and memorable overnight stay in the heart of Country.

In the morning, wake to a light continental-style breakfast including tea and coffee, ready for you to enjoy before your 9am departure.

This authentic experience blends cultural storytelling, nature, and hands-on activities, offering visitors a deeper connection to Country, traditions, and its people.

All catering is provided by the renowned Samantha Martin of Tribal Voice Connections and author of Bush Tukka Guide.

Beer, champagne and wine will be provided, including bush infused beer and ginger beer.

Tour commences from Doon Doon Station at 10am, and guests will return to the Station at 9am the following day.

The free Horizon Power Party in the Park is a true East Kimberley celebration, with performances, workshops, displays and fun for the whole family.

Muster Afloat is a unique series of intimate boating experiences. The program features curated moments on the water, from rejuvenating Yoga & Wellness sessions with Tahnee Jade from the Somatic Room to creative Float, Paint & Create workshops with Cheryl from Kimberley Impressions.

Yoga Afloat
Start your morning with a truly grounding experience as you join Tahnee from The Somatic Room for Yoga Afloat on the iconic Lake Kununurra. Cruise out to the serene Packsaddle Lagoon before easing into a gentle, all-levels yoga flow on board, surrounded by calm waters, bird song and the breathtaking Kimberley landscape. This is one of the most nourishing and memorable ways to begin your day during the Ord Valley Muster.

Unwind on the water with our Float, Paint & Create experience. Breathe, Balance, Float
Start your morning on the water with Tahnee from The Somatic Room for a grounding breathwork and sound bowl session. As the boat pauses on the calm river and the early sun rises around you, you’ll unwind with gentle breathwork before dropping into a restorative sound meditation. A beautifully simple way to find balance during the Muster.

Set on the stunning banks of the Ord River, the Kununurra Campdraft and Rodeo Association’s legendary event returns with raw power, high stakes, and edge-of-your-seat action. Watch fearless local and interstate cowboys and cowgirls take on barrels, broncs, bulls and bullocks in a wild ride to stay on for a heart-stopping 8 seconds or become the fastest drum runner in the East Kimberleys.

With big prize money up for grabs, the competition’s fierce – but the fun doesn’t stop there. There’s live music, a fully licensed bar, plenty of food stalls, and entertainment for the whole family.

Free shuttle buses will be running throughout the event, so getting there is a breeze.

Treat yourselves to a truly special Kimberley getaway — a relaxed yet luxurious 48-hour adventure departing from Kununurra and travelling deep into the heart of Purnululu World Heritage listed National Park. This is an escape for people who love culture, wilderness, great company and unforgettable experiences, and who want to step away for a short, rich immersion into one of Australia’s most remarkable landscapes.

Guided entirely by local Aboriginal custodians, this small-group 4WD journey is about being welcomed onto Country, sharing stories, laughter and time on land that has been cared for over countless generations. From the moment you leave town, you’re travelling with people who know this Country intimately — its seasons, its stories, its humour — and who love sharing it.

The journey begins with a visit to the Warmun Art Centre for morning tea and time to explore powerful Gija artworks before heading off-road into the Bungles. Over two days you’ll walk through Cathedral Gorge, wander along Piccaninny Creek, explore dramatic gorges and hidden chasm walks, and slow down enough to really take it all in. Sunset drinks among the domes and an overnight stay at the Wilderness Lodge add a layer of comfort and ease to the experience, while still feeling deeply connected to place.

There’s plenty of room for laughter, conversation and shared moments along the way — this is not a rushed tour or a silent sightseeing trip. It’s an on-Country experience that’s welcoming, generous and genuinely fun, whether you’re travelling with a partner, friends or on your own.

Experience an unforgettable day learning the cultural significance of El Questro.

Start with the Munbula Cruise with the Ngarinyin Traditional Owners. Glide along the stunning Chamberlain River past towering gorges and rugged escarpments as custodians share dreaming stories, cultural knowledge and the spiritual significance of local plants, animals and landforms. Savour a bush tucker inspired lunch, then join Injiid Marlabu Calls Us — a two hour immersion featuring ancient healing rituals, generational tales and insights into Ngarinyin language and heritage.

This rare, respectful encounter deepens your connection to Country.

Transfers to and from Kununurra are included.

Spend an amazing day paddling the upper Ord River through the spectacular Carr-Boyd Ranges with a personal guide to safegaurd and enhance your journey, offering interpretation of this unique environment and knowledge of the river's secret places.

The tour includes transfers from Kununurra for a lookout over Lake Argyle before you begin, all the equipment required plus is fully catered. This tour will operate like the standard Eco-noeing day trip, but this guided and catered option is only available as part of the Ord Valley Muster.

In partnership with award-winning Blak Tapas, Waringarri Aboriginal Arts invites you to a cultural journey.

Your evening begins at the Waringarri Aboriginal Arts Centre. Take a tour of the oldest art centre in WA (Gold Medal winner at the 2024 WA Tourism Awards) and engage with our local Miriwoong tour guides.

From there, we journey to our on-Country location. Transport is provided from Waringarri Aboriginal Arts.

Where you'll receive a traditional welcome by a Miriwoong elder, followed by traditional dancing and storytelling, and a didgeridoo performance as you watch the Kimberley sunset. Taste bush tucker. Enjoy a gourmet grazing spread prepared by the Indigenous-owned, Blak Tapas team, infused with native local flavours.

Board the Kimberley Durack for canapés and fine wine as the sun sinks across the water, then transfer to Discovery Resorts - Lake Argyle for the Cliffside Dinner Event.
