Gold, Cattle, Culture & Country

The Wyndham Story

Sunday 17th May

Cross-Cultural Historical Tour & Bush-Inspired Luncheon - Step into Wyndham’s Living History where culture, cuisine and creativity collide.

Dress-Up in a Wyndham Cross Cultural History Theme and show off your creativity with outfits inspired by: Aboriginal Heritage - Gold Rush & Frontier - Pastoral Industry – Multicultural Influences - WWII Era.

Whether you arrive in full themed attire or your usual clothes, we’ll have accessories ready for you to wear if you decide you want to add some flair. Your company is what matters most!

Your adventure begins at 9:30 AM with comfortable bus transport from Kununurra (pick-up at Lakeside and town). Sit back and enjoy onboard commentary as the Kimberley stories come to life on the journey to Wyndham. Seats are limited to 24 so book early!

Prefer to drive? Self-drive and tag-along options are welcome, and Wyndham locals are encouraged to join.

Arrive at the Wyndham Collectives Art Hub for a refreshing iced bush tea welcome, then regroup and return to your bus or private vehicle for a guided tour.

Your local guide will share information about Wyndham’s layered past, which is still visible today through its landscapes, stories, and cultural practices.

The tour will include stops where guests may need to walk short distances as the guide shares information and stories at these iconic sites, including information about Aboriginal culture, gold rush days, pastoral life, Afghan and Chinese influences, and WWII.

After the tour, you will return to the Wyndham Collectives Art Hub where you will indulge in a bush-infused two-course luncheon prepared and presented by Zach Green, the renowned Storyteller Chef. A fashion parade celebrating Wyndham’s cross-cultural history will follow lunch, as will the prizes for Best Dressed + Door Draws!

The day concludes around 3:30 PM with return transport to Kununurra. Self-drive and Wyndham local guests can depart at their own pace after lunch and festivities.

This isn’t just a tour—it’s a celebration of history, culture, and community.
